Chief Information Architect & Structural Design Analyst

Nate is an independent researcher, strategist, and seasoned practitioner of  information architecture,  IA engineering, and IA-based analytics. He is passionate about aligning, planning, and transforming the concept baseline of large-scale information environments to improve user and business outcomes.

Nate’s research interests focus on IA theory and structural design science, mainly as they support user experience and knowledge management. His work also explores the intersection of conceptual modeling, natural language processing, symbolic reasoning, task automation, and machine intelligence.

Since 2010, Nate has authored over 50 professional articles and curates the longest-running  glossary dedicated to information architecture. He is a former co-chair of the IA Summit, co-founded the reboot of IA Summit as the IAC (Information Architecture conference), and occasionally volunteers as a peer reviewer.

Nate’s insights on the practice of information architecture and IA structure are featured in the 2nd Edition of  Advances in Information Architecture.
