Nate is an information architect and leader focused on increasing the use of human-centered conceptual data in the enterprise to improve user interactions and sustainable business outcomes.

Nate is passionate about aligning, planning, and transforming enterprise knowledge into consumable information and rich conceptual data and has spent over two decades leading information architecture in large enterprise environments. He accomplishes this by leveraging his extensive knowledge and research in the study of information architecture and  UI structural engineering.

His research has resulted in articles and yet-to-be-published insights, innovative information modeling software, an extensive library of practical frameworks, and the longest-running  glossary devoted to information architecture.

Since 2010, Nate has contributed more than 50 professional articles and papers, co-chaired the IA Summit, co-founded the IAC (the industry’s flagship conference), and volunteers as a peer reviewer for the Journal of IA.

Nate’s insights on the practice of information architecture and UI structure are featured in the 2nd Edition of  Advances in Information Architecture.
